1. Who We Are

Ladies of… is operated by Marlou Ida Mathilde Benders, based in Fiavé, Italy. We provide a WhatsApp-based daily content service designed to empower women in the workplace.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of personal data needed to deliver our service:

Data you provide directly:

• Email address — collected during the payment process
• Group name — the name you choose for your Ladies of… group (e.g., "Ladies of Bright Agency")
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details

Data we receive through the service:

• WhatsApp phone number — of the group admin who adds our service number to their group
• Group membership — we can see the phone numbers of group members (this is standard WhatsApp group functionality), but we do not record, store, or process this information

Data we do NOT collect:

• Your full name (unless you provide it voluntarily)
• Your employer's name (beyond the group name you choose)
• The content of your group conversations
• Your location, device information, or browsing behaviour
• Any sensitive personal data (health, religion, political views, etc.)

3. Why We Collect It

We use your data exclusively to:

• Deliver the service — send daily questions and insights to your WhatsApp group
• Send you setup instructions — a welcome email after payment
• Process your payment — via Stripe
• Contact you about the service — renewal reminders, important updates, or if there is an issue with your group

We will never use your data for marketing purposes from third parties, profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the Ladies of… service.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — processing your email and group details is necessary to deliver the service you purchased
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — contacting you about service-related matters (e.g., renewal reminders, service issues)

We do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing because all data we collect is strictly necessary for service delivery. You can, of course, withdraw from the service at any time.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

Your data is only shared with the following service providers, strictly for delivering the Ladies of… service:

• Stripe (payment processing) — Stripe processes your payment securely under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's Privacy Policy
• WhatsApp / Meta (message delivery) — WhatsApp is used to deliver daily content to your group. Messages are end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp. WhatsApp's Privacy Policy
• Netlify (website hosting) — our website is hosted on Netlify. They may process basic server logs. Netlify's Privacy Policy

All third-party providers are GDPR-compliant and process data within the EU or under appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. WhatsApp Groups & Your Conversations

This is important to us, so let us be very clear:

Our role in your group is limited to:

• Sending one automated message per business day (the daily question + insight)
• Sending a one-time welcome message when we join your group

We do not participate in group conversations, monitor responses, or collect any information about what your group members share. All WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted — meaning even WhatsApp itself cannot read them.

The group is created and managed by you (the group admin). You control who is invited, who is removed, and whether the group continues. We are simply a content-delivering participant in your group.

7. How We Store & Protect Your Data

We take the security of your data seriously:

• Your email address and group name are stored securely with access limited to the Ladies of… team
• Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our systems
• We do not maintain a database of WhatsApp group members' phone numbers or personal details
• Our website uses HTTPS encryption (SSL) for all connections
• We use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication on all service accounts

8. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Email address and group name: retained for the duration of your active subscription, plus 6 months after expiry (to allow for renewal). After that, deleted.
• Payment records: retained by Stripe for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years). We do not control Stripe's retention.
• WhatsApp group membership: when your subscription ends or you remove our number from the group, we no longer have access to any group data.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR

As an EU resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — you can ask us what data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate data
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — you can ask us to delete all your data
• Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
• Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to object — you can object to our processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

10. Cookies & Tracking

Our website (ladies-of.com) currently does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics tools, or any other tracking technology. We do not track your behaviour on our website.

If we add analytics in the future (e.g., privacy-friendly tools like Plausible or Fathom), we will update this policy and ensure compliance with GDPR.

11. Payments

All payments are processed securely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. This is the highest level of certification in the payment industry.

When you make a payment:

• Your card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure payment page
• We never see, receive, or store your card number, expiry date, or CVV
• We receive only a confirmation of payment, your email address, and the amount paid

Refund policy: if you are not satisfied with the service within the first 14 days, contact us for a full refund. After 14 days, payments are non-refundable as the content has been delivered.

12. Group Rules & Safe Environment

Ladies of… is built to be a safe, supportive, and empowering space. Every group operates under these rules:

• 1 message per person per day — keeps the group calm and intentional
• Supportive and empowering messages only — no negativity, gossip, or criticism of colleagues
• No voice notes — keeps the group readable and respectful of everyone's time
• Not a replacement for HR, therapy, or medical advice — this is a peer support space for professional growth and connection

Our commitment to safety:

• We do not moderate your group conversations (we don't read them)
• Group admins are responsible for ensuring members follow the group rules
• If a group admin reports a serious issue, we will provide guidance but cannot intervene in workplace matters
• We reserve the right to remove our service from any group that is reported to us as being used for harassment, discrimination, or any harmful purpose

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. If we make significant changes, we will notify active subscribers by email.

The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
